Erica Wiebe, who won the gold medal (Canada) in women’s 75 kg freestyle wrestling at the 2016 Summer Olympics, met with WWE this week, training at the WWE Performance Center in Florida and attending the Mae Young Classic, SmackDown Live and NXT tapings.
WWE.com posted an article about her visit, saying she was “getting an up-close look this week at what life in WWE is all about.”
At the invitation of WWE officials, Olympic gold medalist Erica Wiebe had a front-row seat Tuesday at the historic Mae Young Classic Finale in Las Vegas, and today, she joined NXT Superstars for an in-ring workout at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla.
Wiebe has been on the radar of WWE talent scouts since their recruiting trip to the Rio Summer Games last year.
