WWE officially announced tonight on 205 Live in a promo video that Hideo Itami is “coming soon.”
Itami was a star in Japan for Pro Wrestling Noah as KENTA, winning their GHC Heavyweight Championship in 2013. He signed with WWE/NXT in 2014, but his WWE stint has been largely a disappointment and he has been plagued by injuries.
He is billed as 182 pounds, but doesn’t really wrestle a “cruiserweight” style, but most cruiserweight matches are basically “regular WWE matches” anyway so whatever.
