There was speculation on the status of Lio Rush today after someone on Reddit noticed that he removed all mentions to NXT and WWE from his Twitter profile and changed his home town on Twitter from Orlando to Washington DC.
However, PWInsider says that as of this morning, Lio Rush has not been released by WWE. There are also unverified claims in that Reddit thread that he was backstage at last night’s NXT tapings (though he didn’t appear on the actual show).
Lio Rush has been in the dog house after he tweeted out a joke following the release of Emma last month, which pissed off a bunch of wrestlers. William Regal and the Road Dogg publicly defended him, though. There was word that WWE vas very close to releasing him (for a tweet…), so his status seems to be rocky, but as of now, he’s apparently still on the roster. His profile is still active on WWE.com.
Lio Rush is insanely good, so hopefully there aren’t too many people pushing to destroy his career over a joke tweet…
