Rumor: Four Horsewomen Match at Wrestlemania 34 Dropped?

WWE is currently rumored to have dropped the idea of having a MMA Four Horsewomen versus WWE Four Horsewomen match at Wrestlemania 34, according to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported two of the MMA Horsewomen, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir, have recently stopped training for wrestling which might mean plans for the Four Horsewomen match at Wrestlemania have been changed or dropped.

Fueling the speculation of plans likely being changed or dropped involves Shayna Baszler currently having her major debut occur in NXT instead of being held off for Ronda Rousey’s official debut or being heavily associated with the MMA Four Horsewomen as was done with the Mae Young Classic tournament.

XFL and Wrestling Trademarks News & Notes

Besides selling off around $100 million worth of WWE stocks, Vince McMahon is also reported to have recently applied for five trademarks related to a possible revival of the XFL. The trademarks were filed on December 16th covering football games, merchandise, downloadable software, and tons of other items.

PWInsider’s Steven Fernandes reported both Impact Wrestling’s Ethan Carter III and Daffney Unger (Daffney in WCW and TNA) recently filed for trademarks on December 15th. Carter filed a trademark for the term “EC3” while Daffney filed a trademark for the ownership of her wrestling name.

Matt Hardy’s “Broken Matt Hardy” trademark officially entered the opposition phase on December 19th which is the last major step in the trademark process. If nobody opposes the trademark within the next thirty days, Matt Hardy will have official ownership of the “Broken” trademark.

William Regal on Who He Would Want to Face in a Match

While answering a fan question on Twitter, William Regal revealed if given the chance to wrestle one more time in the WWE, he would want Shinsuke Nakamura to be his opponent. Regal was offered the choice of anyone currently on either WWE or NXT and picked Nakamura as his dream opponent.
