Paige’s career as a wrestler in WWE is over, PWInsider is reporting.
Paige was reportedly informed this week (likely Monday at Raw) that she will not be cleared to return to the ring after suffering an injury at a house show two weeks ago and PWInsider says multiple sources have said that she is “done” as an in-ring wrestler (in WWE, at least).
Paige suffered an injury on December 27 at a house show in Uniondale, NY. Sasha Banks kicked her in the back with both legs and Paige went down and reportedly lost feelings in her extremities for a while. The match was stopped and a stretcher was brought out, but Paige was able to get up and walk backstage with help. She was said to be fine after the show and it was thought that she just had a “stinger” and would be OK.
WWE even announced that she would be at the Royal Rumble after the injury happened, but that won’t be happening now.
Though she reportedly won’t be wrestling, signs point to her remaining on TV in a non-wrestling role, possibly as a manager for Absolution. Other future roles like Total Divas or some other on-camera role are also possibilities.
Paige underwent neck surgery in October of 2016 and just made her return on November 20, 2017.
She hasn’t specifically mentioned anything on her social media accounts, but did post this on Instagram:
