More Details on the Lucha Bros’ Impact, MLW and Indies Status Until 2020

As noted before, Major League Wrestling recently announced that the Lucha Bros, Pentagon and Rey Fenix, will remain with the company until at least the end of 2019. The announcement was made by MLW’s founder Court Bauer who said that both will be with the company “through end of 2019 at the very least.”

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson also reported that both are currently locked into Lucha Underground contracts until 2020 and the company has the option of extending their contracts should a fifth season be picked up prior to the end of their current non-compete clause.

In regards to their current status with Impact Wrestling, Johnson reported that Impact officials have recently started new contract negotiations with Pentagon and Fenix in order to come to an agreement for next year’s set of dates and a likely pay increase for both stars. Konnan was reported to be both Pentagon and Fenix’s agent for these negotiations.

In regards to other promotions, Johnson reported that the brothers will continue to split their dates in Mexico between AAA and CMLL. Both are also interested in working in Japan for New Japan Pro Wrestling in the near future. They are also expected to continue working for other smaller indie companies when their schedules allow for it.

It was also reported that online wrestling merchandise retailer The Masked Republic has been working with Pentagon and Fenix on securing an official trademark for the brothers filed for “The Lucha Brothers” covering entertainment services purposes.
