AJ Styles is currently negotiating a new contract with WWE, according to a report by Fightful.
Styles signed what was said to be a three year deal with WWE around January 2016, but he’s actually signed through April 2019, according to PWInsider.
Styles is reportedly seeking a reduced schedule as part of a new deal, Fightful said, similar to the deal that Randy Orton currently has, where he works most television dates, but has limited live show dates.
The report also says that Styles advocated for dropping the WWE Championship so he could work fewer dates and spend more time with his family.
PWInsider added that Styles is currently in the top 1% of wrestlers as far as pay and though he definitely would have lots of other options outside of WWE, he’d very likely be able to make more money in WWE than anywhere else.
