Impact Wrestling is reportedly looking for a new cable network home for their weekly television show, according to PWInsider.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported in a recent Q&A article that Impact officials have recently begun searching for potential cable networks interested in becoming the new home for Impact Wrestling starting next year. Impact’s current television contract with POP TV expires after December 31st.
Johnson also reported Impact’s relationship with POP TV has been deteriorating, with their weekly television show being moved to a later starting time as the source of Impact’s frustrations. Besides being given almost no advance notice of the time change, Impact officials have also been upset at the very negative effect the new change has caused on their struggling viewership.
Impact Wrestling has also been moved to a later time slot in Canada on the Fight Network (which owns Impact). Dave Meltzer speculated that it must be because Pop has something in their contract that doesn’t allow Impact to air anywhere else in the world before it airs on Pop, since it wouldn’t make sense for a network to move its own promotion to a worse time slot.
