An idea being talked about in WWE for 2019 is a “Queen of the Ring” tournament with the main roster women wrestlers, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
With the relative success of the Evolution PPV this year, there have been reports that WWE wants to make all-women PPVs a yearly thing. (Another reason is clearly to try to counteract criticism for WWE’s continued shows in Saudi Arabia, where women are banned from wrestling.)
WWE has been discussing possible ideas for a second all-women PPV next year and the “Queen of the Ring” tournament is one of the ideas that has been thrown around. At this point, it’s just an idea, though.
