Trevor Lee announced on Saturday night that he has signed with WWE. At the end of a CWF Mid-Atlantic show in Gibsonville, NC, Lee grabbed the mic and made the announcement:
You said there was a rumor that tonight might be my last night. There’s almost a little bit of truth to that. This week I was no longer a free agent because I signed a contract with WWE.
The crowd then popped and chanted “you deserve it.”
Lee, who is the CWF champion, then said that he wasn’t going to leave the promotion until he lost the title, then said that he would be back to defend the title at a show on February 2.
Lee, a former three time TNA/Impact X-Division Champion, announced that he was leaving Impact in November. His contract officially expired on December 31. The November TV tapings were Impact’s last tapings before his contract was up.
