NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Returning (Teams & Matches)

WWE announced on tonight’s NXT episode that the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament will be returning this year and the first round will begin on NXT in two weeks.

That was NXT’s “special announcement” that they were hyping.

The winners of the tournament will get an NXT Tag Team title shot against War Raiders at NXT TakeOver during WrestleMania weekend.

Four teams were announced on tonight’s episode:

• Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly)
• The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler)
• Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel
• Street Profits

The other four teams were revealed at tonight’s NXT tapings.

• #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa)
• Aleister Black & Ricochet
• Moustache Mountain
• Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan

Here are the first round matches…

• Moustache Mountain vs. Street Profits
• Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan vs. The Forgotten Sons
• #DIY vs. Undisputed Era
• Aleister Black & Ricochet vs. Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel
