WWE: WWE Acquires WarGames Trademark From MLW, Revival Pushing for Old Tag Titles

WarGames

WWE has acquired the rights and trademarks to the WarGames match from Major League Wrestling, according to PWInsider.

MLW did a WarGames match in 2003, then trademarked WarGames in 2017, since no one else had trademarked it and they had used it in 2003.

When WWE did the WarGames match in NXT in 2017, they attempted to trademark the name, but learned that they couldn’t because MLW already had.

WWE reached out to MLW a few months ago and worked out a deal to acquire the rights and trademark, PWInsider says.

As part of the deal, MLW will no longer be using the WarGames name or concept.

The Revival

New Raw Tag Team Champions The Revival have been pushing for WWE to bring back the classic tag title design.
