During Wednesday’s 47th Anniversary event in Tokyo, Japan, New Japan Pro Wrestling officially announced the full schedule and locations for this year’s G1 Climax tournament. This year’s tournament takes place from July 6th to August 12th with the winner to receive a non-guaranteed title shot for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at next year’s Wrestle Kingdom event.
Unlike previous years, this year’s tournament will feature one event held in the United States and the finals to be held on a Monday instead of the traditional Sunday date. AXS TV also announced that the first event in Dallas, Texas will air live on their network.
