NXT’s Dominic Dijakovic announced on Twitter that he had surgery to repair a torn meniscus on Tuesday. WWE also confirmed the surgery.
It’s not known when the injury happened, but at the April 10 NXT tapings, Dijakovic was in the middle of a feud with Velveteen Dream, which seemed like it was leading to a match between the two for the NXT North American Championship, probably at TakeOver. But Dijakovic was not part of the May 1 NXT tapings and was seemingly replaced by Tyler Breeze, who now seems like he will face Velveteen Dream instead at TakeOver XXV on June 1.
It’s not known how long he’ll be out, but wrestlers / athletes often return from meniscus surgery (if it’s arthroscopic surgery) in 3-6 weeks.
