TNT is still yet to decide which day of the week AEW’s weekly TV show will air when it debuts in October, but it’s down to either Tuesday or Wednesday.
They’re also very close to making a decision and are leaning strongly in one direction, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The Observer couldn’t confirm which day that was, but speculated that it’s most likely Wednesday.
That’s based on TNT doing “a lot of analytics” and wanting to air the show on the night with the fewest preemptions. TNT frequently airs NBA games on Tuesdays, so Tuesday nights would probably be a problem. The positive of Tuesdays is that two million wrestling fans might be used to already watching wrestling, and SmackDown will be on Fridays by then.
Canada TV Deal
AEW is in “significant” talks with TSN to air in Canada, but nothing has been finalized yet, the Observer says.
PPVs
The plan right now is for four major PPVs per year, which would be about five hours each, and some shorter streaming specials in between, similar to Fyter Fest and Fight for the Fallen.
