There have been lots of reports that last night’s Stomping Grounds PPV was one of the most poorly attended WWE PPVs in recent memory.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, paid attendance for Stomping Grounds was somewhere in the 4,000-4,500 range. The venue, the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA seats about 18,000 for wrestling events.
There were reportedly about 6,000 fans in attendance and many of those (1,000-2,000) were comped tickets. WWE was reportedly giving away tickets earlier in the day at the local mall, and they also had 2 for 1 ticket deals earlier, according to Meltzer.
A large part of the arena was curtained off and some fans who bought seats in top sections were offered free relocations to closer seats.
