WWE’s request for a women’s match to be featured at today’s Super ShowDown event reportedly was rejected by the Saudi Arabian government, according to Dave Meltzer.
Meltzer also reported that Saudi officials had initially indicated they would allow a women’s match to be on the show before going back to their stance on the ban of women’s wrestling.
WWE had flown both Alexa Bliss and Natalya with the rest of the roster in the hope of being able to hold a Bliss vs. Natalya match as the first women’s match in the country.
