Johnny Gargano got a standing ovation and chants of “Thank you, Johnny” after his loss against Adam Cole last night at NXT TakeOver: Toronto.
Gargano’s wife, Candice LeRae accompanied him in the ring, and Gargano was met by William Regal at the entrance ramp, who shook his hand and raised his arm.
It seemed sort of like a “goodbye” to NXT, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is.
Tommaso Ciampa is reportedly set to return from his neck injury soon, and Ciampa has said that he’s returning to NXT and not Raw or SmackDown when he comes back. So Gargano could possibly be involved in another angle with Ciampa now that his feud with Cole looks like it’s finally done.
Gargano and Ciampa were called up to the main roster in February, but Ciampa needed neck surgery a week later and Gargano returned to NXT.
No regrets. https://t.co/N4TSKfMKUK
