John Cena tweeted that he’ll be watching tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown debut “from afar” because he’s currently shooting Fast & Furious 9 in London.
Good luck to my @WWE family for the 1st episode of #SmackDown on @FOXTV. I’ve learned a lot about family here at #Fast9 and while I’ll be enjoying from afar, I’m glad #FastAndFurious family icon @TheRock gets to FINALLY return home to electrify!

Cena has been shooting the movie and living in London since June.
Cena was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, which is in Burbank, CA, so it’s not out of the question that he could fly in for a surprise appearance at SmackDown in LA. But with The Rock, Stone Cold, and several others already on the show, WWE probably isn’t desperate to have Cena there anyway.
