As noted before, this week’s episodes of AEW Dynamite and NXT suffered large declines due to facing very stiff competition from MLB’s Game 7 of the World Series. AEW Dynamite drew 759,000 viewers on TNT and a #6 ranking in 18-49 demographic while NXT drew 580,000 viewers on USA Network and a #32 ranking in 18-49 demographic.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW Dynamite started off with around 880,000 viewers and dropped to as low as 701,000 viewers during the Cody car ride segment and Best Friends & Orange Cassidy vs. Alex Reynolds & John Silver & QT Marshall tag team match. AEW’s biggest gain of the night was the SCU vs. Lucha Bros tag team match for the AEW Tag Team Championship which gained 55,000 viewers and their biggest decline was the Hikaru Shida vs. Shanna match which lost 85,000 viewers.
Meltzer also reported that NXT’s highest point of the night was around 679,000 viewers and dropped to as low as 467,000 viewers during the Tyler Bate vs. Cameron Grimes match and Undisputed Era vs. Matt Riddle & Keith Lee tag team match. NXT’s biggest gain of the night was the Dakota Kai & Tegan Nox vs. Asuka & Kairi Sane tag team match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship which gained 143,000 viewers and their biggest decline was the Cameron Grimes vs. Tyler Bate match which lost 163,000 viewers. In regards to NXT’s over-run, the show gained an additional 145,000 viewers to end the night.
