The mayor of Orange County, Florida, which includes Orlando, announced in a press conference on June 18th that new strict face mask requirements will be going into effect this Saturday for everyone in the county. Mayor Jerry Demings stated that this new requirement is in response to a recent resurgence of the coronavirus in the county.
WWE announced earlier this week that one of their developmental talents had recently tested positive for the coronavirus. WWE has been primarily holding their television tapings at their Performance Center, which is located in Orlando, in Orange County.
On June 18th, the county reported that it had set a new record that day for most new coronavirus cases at 212 and a median age of those infected at 29 years old.
It is currently not known if WWE will be exempted from the new rules, which require all employees working at a business to wear face masks at all times, except when eating or drinking.
WWE will resume their taping schedule at the Performance Center in Orlando on June 26th.
