WWE reportedly had plans to hold an all-women’s “Queen of the Ring” tournament similar in format to their King of the Ring tournament this summer, but the plans were shelved because of the coronavirus pandemic, Bryan Alvarez reported in a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live.
The tournament would have featured competitors from both WWE’s RAW and SmackDown brands.
WWE reportedly also had plans to hold a second all-women’s Evolution event last year but never went forward with those plans due to scheduling issues.
