Marty Jannetty apparently claimed in a now-deleted Facebook post today that he murdered someone and dumped their body in the Chattahoochee river in Georgia in 1973.
Jannetty said that when he was 13 years old, he tried to buy weed off of someone who then assaulted Jannetty and “dragged [him] around to the back of the building.” “That was the very first time I made a man disappear,” Jannetty said. “They never found him. They shoulda looked in the Chattahoochie River.”

Now, according to TMZ, the Columbus Police Department in Georgia says that they are “going to look into this.”
A spokesperson from the homicide/cold case division told TMZ, “The first step will be seeing if we have any missing persons or unidentified remains cases that match the limited information in the post,” but added that they have “several current active homicide investigations underway and they will have to remain the priority.”
