AEW Dynamite and NXT Ratings – Jan. 6, 2021 – AEW Wins, But Hurt By News Coverage

Though both AEW and NXT put on big shows this week, both shows appeared to be hurt by news coverage of Donald Trump supporters storming the US Capitol building on Wednesday.

AEW Dynamite’s “New Year’s Smash” special drew 662,000 viewers on TNT, down from last week’s 977,000 viewers.

NXT’s “New Year’s Evil” special drew 641,000 viewers on USA, up from last week’s 586,000 viewers.

In the 18-49 demographic, AEW drew a 0.25 rating (down from 0.40), while NXT drew 0.16 rating (up from 0.16).
