Several WWE wrestlres reportedly turned down new contract offers from the company during the past several months, according to Fightful Select.
It was reported that WWE offered new contracts to these talents in mid-to-late 2020 and were turned down due to the new deals being “disappointing” compared to what the company had offered for deals in 2019.
The reason for the lower monetary amounts in the new contract offers reportedly is due to WWE no longer being in a “talent hoarding mode” since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
It was also reported that at least half a dozen talents have either turned down recent offers by the company or are hesitant to agree to anything at the moment. Several wrestlers spoken to stated that they are waiting for things to become “more normal” since they feel that WWE’s offers might improve in value. WWE officials reportedly are fine with these wrestlers wanting to wait before making any decisions regarding their future in the company.
It was reported wrestlers from all of WWE’s main three brands have turned down offers.
