AEW officially announced all 16 competitors tonight on Dynamite for their AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament, which still doesn’t have an official start date.
The winner of the tournament will face Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Championship at the AEW Revolution PPV on March 7, so it will likely start very soon.
Eight of the women will represent the USA and eight will represent Japan.
USA
– Serena Deeb
– Riho
– Britt Baker
– Tay Conti
– Thunder Rosa
– Nyla Rose
– Anna Jay
– Leyla Hirsch
Japan
– Aja Kong
– Yuka Sakazaki
– Veny
– Emi Sakura
– Ryo Mizunami
– Mei Suruga
– Rin Kadokura
– Maki Itoh
AEW said that the tournament will take place in both the US and Japan, so it sounds like matches in the Japan side of the bracket will be taped in Japan rather than Jacksonville.
The only match announced so far is Riho vs. Serena Deeb, which will apparently take place in the US. Despite being Japanese, Riho will represent the US side, likely because she is returning to the US, so her matches seem like they’ll take place in Jacksonville rather than in Japan.
