Yesterday, it was reported that Lars Sullivan was quietly released by WWE last month.
Today, Fightful Select said they reached out and spoke to Lars after his release.
Sullivan said that he told WWE that he is likely done with wrestling, citing “crippling anxiety” issues to the point where he struggled to eat during days of TV tapings, and was having trouble sleeping. He also said his issues were compounded last year by the death of his father.
Sullivan didn’t seem to have any ill-will towards WWE, though, saying that he was grateful for the experience. He called himself his “own worst enemy” and took responsibility for issues that led to his release, calling some actions “idiocy” and “selfish behavior.”
He said that he was treated well by the WWE office and locker room, and there wasn’t any bullying of him.
According to Dave Meltzer, Sullivan no-showed a TV episode recently. Meltzer also said that until that point, Vince McMahon was still high on him and wanted to push him.
