Kenny Omega Wins Impact World Championship

Kenny Omega is the new Impact World Champion, defeating Rich Swann in a Title vs. Title match tonight at the Impact Rebellion PPV.

Omega won with a One Winged Angel in a 23 minute match.

Afterwards, he celebrated with three championship belts: The AEW World Championship, the Impact World Championship and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. The Impact/TNA titles were unified when Rich Swann defeated Moose last month, but Swann still carried both belts to the ring.

Mauro Ranallo was on commentary for just this match along with Matt Striker and D’Lo Brown.

Earlier in the night, Tony Khan, who was backstage with Tony Schiavone and Jerry Lynn, said that AEW referee Aubrey Edwards would officiate the match. Impact exec Scott D’Amore then came up and said that Brian Hebner would also be officiating the match, so there would be two refs. Hebner took a ref bump in the match and Omega tried to hit Swann with a chair, but Edwards grabbed the chair from him.

Omega now holds the top championship of three promotions: The AEW World Championship, Impact World Championship and AAA Mega Championship.
