Night 1 of WWE’s WrestleMania 37 event earlier this month featured a Women’s Tag Team Turmoil match to determine the number one challenger for the Women’s Tag Team Championship at Night 2. This match was won by Natalya and Tamina, who failed the win the Women’s Tag Team titles on the following night.
Fightful Select reported that WWE officials originally did not have any plans for the Women’s Tag Team Turmoil match to take place at WrestleMania 37. It was reported that the original plans were for this match to take place on SmackDown as part of its April 9th “WrestleMania” special episode.
Natayla reportedly made a strong push backstage for more women to be featured on the card of WrestleMania 37 resulting in WWE officials changing their minds and moving the Women’s Tag Team Turmoil match to WrestleMania 37 instead.
