As noted before, WWE was short-handed for talent for last week’s tapings of RAW due to several wrestlers not being medically cleared to compete following WrestleMania 37 and a couple other talent pulled for COVID-19 precautionary reasons.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that this past Monday’s tapings of RAW also suffered from WWE being short-handed again for talent. Meltzer reported that his sources stated that the reason was due to WWE recently suffered another COVID-19 outbreak following WrestleMania 37. While responding to a question from co-host Bryan Alvarez over the same matches being done again, Meltzer stated “that was part of it. I don’t know who it was, because they won’t tell you, but yeah there was.”
In regards to the original plans for this past Monday’s episode of RAW, Fightful Select reported that Vince McMahon was “significantly late” to Monday’s creative meeting for RAW and proceeded to make “tons” of changes to the script prior to the start of the show. One of those changes included the removal of a previously advertised Randy Orton vs. Braun Strowman match.
