Mercedes Martinez Taken to Hospital for Evaluation After Kick to the Head in NXT Match

Mercedes Martinez was taken to a hospital for evaluation after taking a roundhouse kick to the head from Xia Li during a match last night on NXT, according to Fightful. As of now, there’s no update on her condition.

Martinez appeared to be temporarily knocked out after taking the kick during a mixed tag match with she and Jake Atlas taking on Xia Li and Boa. In the finish, Li gave Martinez her roundhouse kick finisher and Martinez fell as if she had been legitimately knocked out. Li went for a cover in what looked like it was supposed to be the finish, but Martinez, appearing to be out of sorts, tried to lift her shoulder up. The referee then immediately called off the match and declared Li and Boa the winners.
