John Cena Returns at Money in the Bank, Will Be on Raw

John Cena made his return to WWE tonight at the Money in the Bank PPV.

After Roman Reigns defeated Edge in the main event with help from Seth Rollins’ attack on Edge, Reigns got on the mic and said, “Now the whole world can acknowledge me.”

The crowd erupted into boos, then John Cena’s music hit and he came out to a massive pop. Cena posed on the stage for a bit and mouthed that he missed everyone, then he ran into the ring and faced off with Reigns, then gave him the “You Can’t See Me” gesture and the show went off the air…

Of course, this is to set up a match between Reigns and Cena at SummerSlam on August 21 for the Universal Championship.

Other than the Firefly Fun House segment at WrestleMania 36 in 2020, it would be Cena’s first WWE match since January 2019, when he wrestled in a four way match on Raw.

Cena is scheduled to begin shooting a new movie called “Argylle” in August, so he likely won’t be around for long.

Update:

After the show went off the air, Cena cut a promo in the ring about how much he “really, really missed” the fans, and wanted to let them know that he’s “back.”

WWE also released a Cena video where he said that he would be “kicking off Monday Night Raw” tomorrow.
