More on WWE NXT Viewership for August 10th

The August 10th episode of WWE NXT saw NXT gain a very large increase in both overall viewership and key demographic ratings. This week’s episode was notable for NXT’s return to USA Network after a brief stay on SyFy due to USA Network’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games commitments.

NXT drew 751,000 viewers and a 0.19 key demographic rating on USA Network. NXT’s key demographic rating for that night was not given.

The quarter-hour breakdowns for this week’s NXT show were not available in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported that the main reasons for the very large increase in viewership for this week’s NXT show were due to it being back on USA Network and their overall 18-34 viewership being much higher than their usual average for shows. This week’s show also reportedly had a larger than usual increase in NXT’s over 50 demographic group as another reason for its overall viewership gains.

In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 244,000 viewers. NXT’s key demographic group viewership breakdowns were not available in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was up 21.3% in overall viewership and up 18.4% in key demographic viewership.

In regards to the August 3rd episode of NXT, Meltzer reported that it had a key demographic ranking of 42nd for that night.


More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for August 11th

The August 11th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW suffer large declines in both overall viewership and demographic ratings.

AEW drew 979,000 viewers and a 0.35 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for this week’s show was 3rd place.

The quarter-hour breakdowns for this week’s NXT show were not available in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for the large declines for this week’s AEW show were due to stiff competition from the return of MTV’s Challenge series hurting AEW’s female viewership the most and AEW suffering a large decline in their overall 35-49 demographic group.

In regards to head-to-head competition, the Season 37th premiere of Challenge drew 660,000 overall viewers and 494,000 key demographic viewers on MTV.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 454,000 viewers. AEW’s key demographic group viewership breakdowns were not available in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Meltzer reported that while detailed numbers were not available at the time of his report, AEW’s overall 18-34 demographic viewership did very well for this week’s show.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was up 23.6% in overall viewership and up 8.9% in key demographic viewership.
