In-Ring: John Cena, Roman Reigns

WWE SmackDown kicks off with John Cena starting the show. He says they are on for SummerSlam. Cena says school is back and running and now is a good time to give Roman Reigns his report card. He says Roman is a D, a below average D. A d-head, a d-bag and a disappointment.

Cena says for 10 years the WWE has been selling Roman Reigns and the problem is that judging by the numbers, the only one buying is Roman Reigns. That’s why he came back with a specific agenda. He will give Roman an F. At SummerSlam, Roman gets an F from John Cena. But he wants to hear what Tulsa, Oklahoma feels about it.

The fans chant Cena. He says they have a lively class room. He asks if they think Roman Reigns will beat the hell out of him at SummerSlam. The crowd jeers. He says Roman will beat the hell out of him at SummerSlam but he also knows that Roman Reigns will lose at SummerSlam and there’s nothing he can do about it.

Out comes Roman Reigns to the ring. Cena thanks Roman for joining them. Roman tells Cena not to waste his time and to get to it. Cena says he won’t waste his time but he is going to wait until one week to tomorrow to embarrass him on one of the biggest events. Roman asks if that’s all he has. Cena says that’s all he needs. When he looks at Roman, he sees someone who waltzes around and thinks it’s his show. Thinking that everyone has to play by his rules, that it’s his company. Everybody knows that it belongs to the WWE Universe.

John says that’s why he is back. He is the only one that can shut him up because the WWE has been pushing him for a decade and it’s one failure after another. And he’s still there because he’s the best chance they have. He has built such a layer of protection that no one can get close to him. But they asked Cena to come back and he will get a piece of humble pie when he beats him at SummerSlam.

He tells Roman that it’s starting to build, it’s either going to be team Reigns or team Cena. He tells Roman that it’s starting to build, it’s either going to be team Reigns or team Cena. He says Tulsa has chosen and Roman is sitting on a small table because he will be history at SummerSlam.

Roman tells Cena he thought they were going to get something original, fresh. Instead he makes d jokes, penis jokes. He tells John to cut him and hit him with good stuff. Cena says Roman will beat his ass at SummerSlam, spear, spear, big punch after another DC Superhero, hype man in the corner. Roman will kick his ass at SummerSlam. Cena says he doesn’t need to prove himself to him and that’s what is so historic about it. He just needs to pin him 1, 2, 3. And if he can get the title one more time, that would be number 17 for him and that would make him the most decorated champion of all time.

Cena says as much fun as that would be for him, he is here to help Roman. Roman says that’s how good Cena is, he is here to help him. There to help the Tribal Chief. Roman tells him he’s not like Cena. He does things differently. Roman says that’s John Cena, arguably the greatest of all time. Underappreciated, not enough respect. He says Cena has done things that no one has done before. Mount Rushmore of WWE, he might take every slot. Roman says he is just proud to say he might beat John Cena. He’s so good he can juggle Hollywood and WWE. They don’t have enough time on SmackDown to promote his movies.

Roman says Cena is good, his career says it. He is good enough to stand in the ring and main event SummerSlam with The Tribal Chief. He is even good enough to win the WWE Championship but not good enough to win the Universal Championship.

Roman tells him 20 years of missionary might have been good for him but it wasn’t good enough for Nikki Bella. Roman says he is going to smash him, retain the title, pack him up on a private jet and send him back to Hollywood. But he wants Cena to enjoy it because this might be the last time we get John Cena ever again. He tells Cena to take us home.

Cena says if he wants a compelling story, he tells Roman he hasn’t been embarrassed. He has been protected. A pretty face, giant bars of soap for teeth, he almost ruined Seth Rollins, ran Dean Ambrose out of WWE, five WrestleMania main events, Heyman as his lackey but it’s still not working. Cena asks the fans if they want a compelling story at SummerSlam. Cena says Roman is right about so much. Cena will go to a Hollywood set, Roman will smash him but Heyman knows better than anyone how much punishment he can take and survive. He built Suplex City. All he needs is a 1, 2, 3 and Roman is the biggest failure in WWE history.

All Cena needs is a 1, 2, 3 and Roman becomes an answer to a trivia question. Who did John Cena defeat to become a 17 champion? And Cena will just hang in there for the 1, 2, 3 and he will take his title, jump the barricade, run out of the stadium and he may even blow Roman a kiss good-bye. He says no one can protect Roman anymore. At SummerSlam, the champ is gone, 1, 2, 3. Cena drops the microphone and leaves the ring.
