Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE officials recently changed their plans for one of the matches for the card of their upcoming Day 1 event on January 1, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Meltzer reported that as of early Friday morning, WWE officials had scrapped their plans for RK-Bro to defend their RAW Tag Team Championship at the event. Meltzer reported that the original plans were for RK-Bro to face off against either Dominik & Rey Mysterio or the Street Profits at the event before those plans were put on hold due to undisclosed issues with Montez Ford.
Meltzer also reported that his sources within the company stated that Ford being unavailable for the past two weeks has been the reason why WWE stopped advertising the scheduled Mysterios vs. Street Profits match and it is currently not known if that match will still happen or not.
