Bobby Lashley has a legitimate shoulder injury, which explains why he didn’t wrestle in today’s Elimination Chamber match.
According to PWInsider, Lashley suffered the injury while taking a German suplex from Brock Lesnar in their match at the Royal Rumble on January 29, which is the last time Lashley wrestled.
Lashley is scheduled to get the shoulder evaluated this week in Birmingham, Alabama, which is where Dr. James Andrews, who does several surgeries on WWE wrestlers, is located.
Lashley made his entrance for today’s Elimination Chamber match, but never actually wrestled. Early in the match, Seth Rollins powerbombed Austin Theory through the plexiglass of Lashley’s pod, which knocked Lashley down and out. Corey Graves explained (in storyline) that his head may have hit on the metal corner of the pod. A couple of minutes later, WWE officials came in to check on Lashley and helped him out of the ring and out of the match.
WWE posted an update later saying that Lashley had “entered concussion protocol,” which is a storyline cover for his shoulder injury.
