Cesaro’s WWE contract has expired and he is currently done with the company after contract negotiations ended without a new deal being reached, PWInsider is reporting.
His contract reportedly expired earlier this week. He last wrestled for WWE at the February 11 SmackDown, losing to Happy Corbin.
Cesaro and WWE had been in negotiations for a new contract and WWE offered him an extension on his current deal, but he turned it down.
Since he wasn’t released and his contract has simply expired, there’s no 90 day non-compete and he’s free to work anywhere else immediately.
Cesaro first signed with WWE in 2011 under their development promotion FCW. Before that, he notably wrestled in Europe, Chikara, CZW, PWG and in ROH from 2005-2011 under his real name, Claudio Castagnoli.
