As noted before, Riddle was rumored to be the originally planned winner for the Men’s Royal Rumble match at this past Saturday’s Royal Rumble 2022 event in St. Louis, Missouri.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that the recent reports and rumors of WWE officials originally planning for Riddle to win the match are not true.
It was reported that “top talent and longtime names” spoken to stated that Riddle was never considered as a possible choice to win the match. WWE officials reportedly had made the decision for Brock Lesnar to win the match around two weeks ago. One source spoken to reportedly stated that Riddle was also never told that he was going to win the match but they had heard of another name who had been considered as a potential winner besides Lesnar.
