Tony Khan and Cody Rhodes Comment After Cody’s AEW Departure

On Tuesday, Cody and Brandi Rhodes dropped the shocking announcement that they were leaving AEW. Subsequent reports indicate that it’s likely that Cody ends up in WWE soon.

On Twitter yesterday, Cody encouraged fans to still watch AEW.

I’d encourage you to still watch it – I was very lucky that my hard work led me to be that face, but I wasn’t alone

On today’s episode of Busted Open Radio, Tony Khan commented on their departure:

“I put out statements that were from the heart and really positive, and I meant it. I wish them both really well and I appreciate everything they did here in their different roles in the company. It’s very sad and not something any of us wanted to happen, I think. But I believe that Cody’s got something else in the works. I’m not sure about that, but we’ll see. I’m sure they’re gonna have great opportunities in wrestling and in life. And you never know what’s gonna happen in the future. I wish them the best and very appreciative for everything they did here.”
