As noted before, Hangman Adam Page announced this past Wednesday that he recently contracted COVID-19 and would not be able to appear at AEW’s Dynamite show that night.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that AEW officials rewrote several of their plans for this week’s AEW Dynamite and Rampage shows due to Page’s absence from COVID. Meltzer reported that AEW’s original plans for tonight’s episode of Rampage were affected the most.
AEW officials reportedly originally had planned for a big angle to take place between CM Punk and Page which would have led to the official announcement of their match for the AEW World Championship at next month’s Double or Nothing 2022 event. Those plans were eventually changed to CM Punk delivering a promo during this past Wednesday’s Dynamite show stating he was fighting Page at Double or Nothing 2022 for the belt.
In regards to Page’s health status, Meltzer reported that Page recently informed him and others that he and his family was feeling fine and he currently expects to be able to work at next week’s Dynamite show in Baltimore, Maryland.
