Colt Cabana reportedly recently signed a new contract with AEW, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s issue that his sources stated that Cabana recently signed a new contract with AEW that is for both AEW and Ring of Honor. The Young Bucks’ Matt and Nick Jackson reportedly were the key people within AEW who pushed for Cabana to be signed to a new deal.
Meltzer also reported that the official reason why Cabana has been absent from AEW shows recently is due to him currently being earmarked as a member of ROH’s roster and will be primarily working for ROH once they are able to resume regular operation.
Meltzer speculated that another reason for Cabana’s move to ROH is likely due to lingering issues between him and CM Punk since their legal issues over a WWE doctor’s defamation lawsuit against Punk and Cabana and afterwards Cabana’s lawsuit against Punk over claims of unpaid legal fees.
