Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo recently announced that Mercedes Varnado, also known as Sasha Banks in WWE, will be making an appearance at their C2E2 2022 convention on August 6-7 in Chicago, Illinois.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that following the announcement, many wrestling conventions attempted to contact Banks to try to book her for their own events. Those spoken to stated that they were informed by Banks and her reps that it would not be possible until 2023. It was also reported that several wrestling promoters had also recently contacted Banks for wrestling events but were informed that she was only taking non-wrestling related bookings for the rest of this year.
In regards to Banks’ current WWE contract status, it was reported that one wrestling promoter stated that they “can’t imagine her not being released at this point.” Several WWE talent spoken to stated that they are still under the belief that she will not be returning to the company.
In regards to Banks’ not accepting wrestling-related outside bookings, it was reported that it is currently not known if this is just a personal preference by Banks or something contractually related.
