Ric Flair’s Last Match Event Reportedly Generated Over 24,000 PPV Buys

This past Sunday’s Jim Crockett Promotions’ Ric Flair’s Last Match event reportedly generated over 24,000 pay-per-view buys, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that the event is currently estimated to have generated between 24,200 to 29,200 pay-per-view buys based on current numbers and estimates.

In regards to the breakdowns, streaming PPV buys reportedly are currently estimated to be between 20,000 to 24,000 while traditional cable PPV buys are currently estimated to be around 4,200. In terms of wrestling history, Meltzer reported that only All In (55,000) and a co-promoted Pancrase and SEG event (60,000) drew higher PPV buys for wrestling events promoted from promotions with no national television.

The event also reportedly generated an attendance of 6,800 and a live gate revenue of around $448,502. Meltzer reported that this was the second largest ever live gate for an indie event in North America in wrestling history, only behind All In from 2018 which drew 10,541 paid attendance and $458,525 in live gate revenue. Meltzer reported that in terms of attendance, a FMLL Luchamania USA Tour 2013 event in Los Angeles in 2013 drew a higher attendance of around 7,000 but the live gate revenue was much smaller than All In.
