CM Punk suffered a “serious” injury in his match against Jon Moxley at All Out and will require surgery, according to Dave Meltzer.
The injury is believed to have happened on Punk’s dive to the outside early in the match. Afterwards and throughout the rest of the match, he was checking on his arm, which appeared hurt. Rumors are that he may have suffered a triceps injury.
The title situation will be addressed tonight on Dynamite, Meltzer said, no matter what happens discipline-wise after the backstage fight after All Out.
Punk and Ace Steel were also scheduled for a Zoom meeting with AEW personnel today at 4 PM ET, Meltzer reported. Fightful previously reported that Punk and Tony Khan had a meeting yesterday.
Punk is currently home in Chicago, not in Buffalo, where Dynamite is taking place tonight.
Update: Tony Khan said that he will address both the World Championship and Trios Championship situation tonight on Dynamite.
