NXT talent Tony D’Angelo suffered an injury during WWE’s tapings for their September 27th episode of NXT this past Wednesday at their Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
D’Angelo competed in a match against Wes Lee for the upcoming show and suffered the injury following a spot where D’Angelo was sent into the turnbuckles. D’Angelo fell down afterwards and was unable to continue resulting in the match being called off and him being helped to the back to receive medical treatment.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that D’Angelo’s injury was genuine and not a storyline-related injury. Meltzer reported that the nature and severity of D’Angelo’s injury is currently not known.
