WWE reportedly is currently considering plans for the return of their King of the Ring tournament, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that WWE officials recently held talks regarding the idea of bringing back their King of the Ring tournament. Those same sources reportedly also stated that this would be for an event featuring the crowning of new King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring winners.
WWE last held a King of the Ring tournament as its own event in 2015 featuring Wade Barrett being crowned as the winner and as a regular non-event tournament in 2021 featuring Xavier Woods being crowned as the winner. WWE currently has only held one Queen of the Ring tournament, which was called Queen’s Crown and took place in 2021 featuring Zelina Vega being crowned as the winner.
