As noted before, Dragon Lee announced during this past Wednesday’s Lucha Libre AAA’s Noche de Campeones 2022 event that he had recently signed an official contract with WWE.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Lee’s contract is for three years in length and for a monetary amount above the current standard for NXT-level contracts. Meltzer reported that Lee’s deal also included terms for pay increases every year and he is currently believed to be the highest paid talent in WWE’s NXT developmental system when not counting main roster talents working in the brand.
Lee’s contract reportedly also contains terms allowing him the ability to continue working on an outside entertainment project and keep his existing licensing deal with Legends of Lucha Libre.
Meltzer reported that WWE officials are currently planning for Lee to be potentially called up to their main roster in 2024.
