As noted before, WWE is currently interested in potentially signing New Japan Pro Wrestling talent Hikuleo to a contract with the company.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE is currently interested in also potentially signing Hikuleo’s brother and NJPW talent Tama Tonga to a contract with the company as well.
It was reported that WWE’s interested in Tonga was something that was not new and instead word of it was being spread around NJPW’s locker room ahead of NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event this past Wednesday.
In regards to Tonga’s current contract with NJPW, those spoken to within NJPW reportedly stated that it is currently set to expire in a few weeks despite NJPW recently having Tonga win their NEVER Openweight Championship.
It was reported that Tonga had previously been offered a deal by WWE around seven years ago but he rejected the offer at the time and wanted to stay in NJPW instead.
