WWE reportedly is currently working on special production plans for their upcoming Pitch Black match between Bray Wyatt and LA Knight at next weekend’s Royal Rumble 2023 event, according to Fightful Select.
It was reported that their sources stated that these special plans include what was described as “neon” elements for the match.
It was also reported that WWE will be holding an official post-show press conference following their upcoming Royal Rumble 2023 event.
In regards to other plans for this year’s Royal Rumble event, in a separate report Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE officials recently held talks over the idea to lean less on having past veteran WWE wrestlers make surprise appearances in favor of “non-traditional surprises” for this year’s Royal Rumble matches. It was also reported that several past veteran WWE wrestlers have already been contacted to gauge their interest in working at this year’s event.
It was also reported that WWE officials currently do not have any plans for Ronda Rousey to make an appearance at next weekend’s event. Rousey reportedly had been originally scheduled to work in a singles match at the event as of this past December.
In regards to the Women’s Royal Rumble match, it was reported that those spoken to stated that WWE officials currently feel “very confident” in their women’s roster and likely will not be relying heavily on past WWE female wrestlers to help fill out spots for the match unlike with last year’s Women’s Rumble match, which was affected by the large amount of talent cuts in the division.
