Saturday’s Battle in the Valley 2023 event for New Japan Pro Wrestling in San Jose, California featured a “Loser Leaves NJPW” match between Eddie Kingston and Jay White.
This match resulted in Kingston defeating White meaning that White no longer is allowed to wrestle in any event for NJPW going forward as per the match stipulation.
Following the match, the crowd gave White an ovation thanking him for his time in NJPW before it was interrupted by David Finlay, who launched an ambush attack on White and tirade on the mic about White, the fans, Japan, and other stuff.
Prior to the event, White’s future in NJPW was uncertain due to his contract expiring soon and White had lost a “Loser Leaves Japan” match earlier in the month against Hikuleo at The New Beginning in Osaka 2023 event.
White is now expected to leave NJPW for a potential career in either WWE or AEW.
